Initial Safety Compliance Audit

 

Each business location should first conduct an Initial Safety Audit, in order to gauge where the business and specific location currently stand in relation to occupational risk and safety management, and to assess its compliance with statutorily obligated provisions.

 

The review should be completed when first installing the system or when a new location is opened, in order to benchmark your current safety management compliance. This will help to identify your most pressing risks whilst also helping to plan actions to be taken.

 

You may also conduct an audit periodically to check for improvements in your safety performance from time to time.

 

Having completed the Initial Safety Audit for the first time, you should then work through the specific Safety Management System modules as per the new location checklist
